Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM)
The Technical University of Madrid (UPM, Universidad Politécnica deMadrid) is the oldest and largest of the Spanish Technical Universities. UPM is made up of 21 Schools dealing with different areas of technology. It offers 3 and 5/6 years degree-programmes, covering all engineering areas and architecture. UPM gives high importance to international education in the belief that future peace and prosperity depend on the ability of people to integrate and work in a multi-cultural environment. As a result, UPM has international student exchanges with over 400 universities and higher education centres in Europe and other parts. UPM is an active member of numerous international associations of universities and centers of higher education.
Politecnico di Milano (Polimi)
The Politecnico di Milano is the largest and most prestigious technical university in Italy . It hosts over 1,000 professors and researchers and over 40,000 students in 17 departments. The University is involved in advanced research activities in many different fields, ranging from nano-technology to aerospace, from biotechnology to Information and Communication Technology and many more. It covers all ranges of activities that are typical of a leading Research University , from base research to technological transfer to industrial spin-offs. The Politecnico di Milano has developed important research activities in the management economical and industrial engineering fields and offers the best educational programs at undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels. Besides the two campuses located in Milan ,the Politecnico consists of 5 branches located throughout the regions of Lombardia and Emilia Romagna. Furthermore it leads a network of structures and associations, including the MIP (the school of management of the Politecnico), to conduct applied and post-graduate research in conjunction with and for the industrial world.
